choices, choices
help a girl out – a, b, or c?
i’ve finished both of the front panels and the back in a fit of knitting madness today (and look ma! my hands don’t hurt, yeehaw). i definitely don’t have enough yarn for the full length, but that’s fine since i’m not overly fond of the long sleeves here anyhow.
so, what’s it to be?

p.s. i had to cut off the model’s head in the pics – a little too early madonna for me. not that madonna couldn’t pull it off, but a rowan model? oh yeah, she’s sass personified.

B. I like the meeting-at-the-waist length for looks, and elbow-length just seems right for a cute little sweater like that. If not, I’d go for C.

I vote 3/4, which is C, though I’ll tell you that it can be problematic. If there’s no ribbing you may have trouble with the shoulder seams migrating down your arms. At the B length, you have your elbow to stop the progress, but sometimes that C length gives just enough extra weight to get annoying. Just my experience, for whatever it’s worth. I’m not sure I’d do a short sleeve, it doesn’t feel like it’d be balanced.

i vote b. it’s a nice compromise and it’s just a nice length. though these things are always really individual.

I guess I am the odd ball, I think I like A the best. Short and flirty, nice to take the chill of the day, but not to heavy if it is warm in the afternoon. Also I think A is a really cute length for the shorter sweater.
B I think kind of cuts the arm at an awkward place. It is nice that it lines up with the edge, but something about sleeves that length always makes me think someone’s arms looks chunky. Also a seam at the elbow can be irritating if you have no way to push it up out of the way.
My second favorite would have to be c, I like 3/4 sleeves. Though with as hot as it has been in LA lately may be to warm for a flirty little summer top top making it more appropriate for fall which I am sure you don’t want now.

The same length as the sweater itself, and just above the elbow. -
I’d go for C for a question of visual balance, especially since you like 3/4 sleeves.

B or C. If you have cute elbows, and I’m guessing you do, then B. If you’ve tried a B-length before and it gives a sausage effect, then C. I agree with Marnie on balance. There’s too much fabric here with the ruching to go with a short sleeve. Can’t wait to see it!

I’m so late to this party but I vote B. I’ve been sad that with onehanded typing due to baby holding I have not been able to comment over here more!! You’re always up to something good.
And: Congratulations on passing and the upcoming graduation. I never went to my college or grad school ones either and that’s just fine. But yay, I’m very proud of you!!

This was the only pattern in the latest Rowan that I loved – good on you for making it – I vote for 3/4 length, too, but you’ve probably already decided, since I’m late to the party on replying!
