what a difference a day makes(*)
i love love this knit ~ and i know i’ll definitely be using it a lot more on the east coast than in los angeles. i kept meaning to do a photo shoot outside of my apartment but a) embarassing, b) hard to do by oneself, c) i’m absolutely in love with my apartment and will miss it horribly when i go. so! there you have it, pretty light coming in the window, some cat appearances, and the all-important kitchen table.
now go out and knit your own urban aran ~ it’s just too too fun. of course, more pics and info on the project page.
(*my hair changes so. i definitely play with color and length, but i’ve never gotten a perm or anything like that. some days it’s full of bouncy curls, other days plain Big as in Banshee, and then other days with just a bit of a wave to it. anyhow, fascinating to me. :)

I have found your blog through Julia at mindofwinter and am I ever glad I decided to visit today. Your Aran Cardigan is beautiful. I’ve had this Paton’s pattern kicking around for awhile, and I’ve been toying with making it ever since seeing the others tranform it into a cardigan. Yours—with your helpful zipper tutorial—might just be the one that pushes me to begin it, so thanks for your detailed notes and helpful photos.
On a different note: from a girl who has boring, fine, straight hair, I really like (and envy!?) your hair, and think it’s fantastic. And from a girl who has recently moved from Canada to the US’s Southwest after graduate school, I wish you the best— :)

I’m glad EVERYONE agrees with me….again, beautiful….beautiful….beautiful….mmmm….mmmmm! though somewhat thin…mmmm…we’ll have to fatten you up!!!! creamy mashed potatoes (sweet and salty!)...buttery croissants…cheese….alll kinds! raclette…everyday! milkshakes….and lots of toddler’s love…! Ok, so I am really jealous of your hair. I always wondered if it was premed or natural. I would give anything for bouncy curls vs. long and straight as a stick. I did have bouncy curls as a kid, but that required sleeping on rollers every night. I even developed the ability to sleep on electric rollers.
